Why is it recommended to charge newly purchased mobile phones for eight hours before using them?
Simply put, it is still an old-fashioned arrangement to say that a new phone or laptop should still be used only after 8 hours of charging.
In detail, there was a time when Nickel Cadmium batteries were used before, at that time the phone had to be charged and used for 8 hours.
Nickel cadmium batteries have been shown to vary in capacity ('memory effect') according to the circles they charge. Therefore, if the battery is not 100% charged the first time, then the battery may not be 100% charged. This is the secret behind the belief that is still handed down today.
However, Li-ion or Li-PO batteries used today do not have such a 'memory effect', so it is not a problem to use them when buying a new phone or disconnect it at 100% charge without charging for 8 hours.
However, be careful not to use the new gadget until the battery is empty.
